Management Orientation Essentials enables managers to understand the key management essentials functions in an organisation. This understanding will enable and encourage managers to participate fully and effectively in all aspects of management.
Management Orientation Essentials includes:
- Describing the management activities involved in running a successful business
- Analysing the planning, organising, leading and controlling functions of a manager
- Identifying and explaining the main tasks of managers
- Understanding the decision making process in relation to management decisions
- An exploration of the key responsibilities and roles of various management functions in an organisation
- Organogram techniques
Managers at all levels will understand the various management roles in the organisation. They will understand and be able to apply the functional competencies namely, planning, organising, leading and controlling in their work environment. Additional skills and competencies addressed include management and team problem solving and decision-making.
First-line and middle managers are the links across both vertical hierarchical structures and cross-functional areas in organisations and must be able to facilitate efficient and productive communication and performance across these. Management Orientation Essentials prepares managers to meet these challenges.

understanding and skill competence; and a laminated
memory jogger card
